What is the worldview of the Wizard of Oz?

Many people say the Wizard of Oz has a postmodern worldview, which I believe is true. The escaping from reality or having "higher" gods is a part of it. Seeing all of the odd characters in Dorothy's dream, from what I hear, is like being high on "shrooms" with all the bright colors and weird effects. She depends on what she wants and what she believes could be a better reality.
1. The Emerald City (no not the smoothies) is like a palace to find her ultimate god.
2. The yellow brick road is a pathway to her better reality, but she soon finds out that the reality she wants was not all that great after seeing the Oz.
The postmodernist creates gods which Dorothy does in the Wizard of Oz, Oz is the god to her.
